From initial conception to becoming a multi-award winning business, supporting over 80 brokers with access to over 200 funders, we have achieved a lot over the last 10 years.
Synergy Commercial Finance was launched with Piotr Twaits taking the role of Sales Director in November 2015 at the Finance Professionals Show at Olympia. Our first franchisees quickly followed and we proudly welcomed our 20th franchisee within 12 months.
In 2016 saw the business grow its team to support the expansion in franchisee numbers. Towards the end of the year saw the introduction of all residential property finance to include 1st and 2nd charge mortgages, Consumer Buy-To-Let and Consumer bridging finance.
June 2017 marked another significant milestone with the first Synergy Annual Conference event in Peterborough.
March 2018 brought the first awards shortlisting at the Business Money Facts Awards for Commercial Mortgage Introducer of the Year. This period also saw Synergy moving into new premises following further growth in the internal team numbers. By June, Synergy had been shortlisted for multiple prestigious awards, including the Bridging & Commercial Awards and SFI Awards.
In 2019 Synergy introduced its first annual Meet The Funder event in Birmingham where over 100 franchisees and Funder employees networked and socialised late into the evening.
At the end of 2021 Piotr Twaits was promoted to Managing Director and Wendy Twaits joined the team as Sales Director.
The reputation of Synergy in the wider market place continued to build, with Synergy being recognised at multiple industry events. Bridging and Commercial awards received for Best Commercial Broker, 2021 and 2022 were followed by Best Specialist Finance Network in 2023 and Best Specialist Distributor in 2024. In 2022, we won the NACFB Broker Network of the Year. Further recognition came from the Business Money Facts Awards when we were commended for Commercial Mortgage Introducer of the Year in 2023. The company’s growth led to relocating to larger new offices in York in 2024. Before the end of the year we partnered with the Finance Education Centre ensuring continuous learning and development to our brokers and funders. Just one of the ways we uphold our values that make it easier for end customers to understand what sets a Synergy broker apart.
We celebrated our 10th anniversary in 2025, and look forward to much more growth, innovation, and success to come!
